Specifically for Media Center, everything from Cable Card drivers & firmware, to improvements in audio & video support, this is the operating system that gets it right. While there's still plenty of new features to talk about, there's also a real conversation to be had around the stability, and reliability of this new release. As one of our dealers put it, Windows 7 has the reliability for me to finally consider putting Cable Card in every one of my media center installs.

Niveus Movie Library 2.0 64-bit
Re-written from the ground up, the new 64-bit Niveus Movie Library 2.0 (ML 2.0) is faster, supports larger movie collections, and provides several new features that continue to make it the reference in media center movie plug-ins. Written once again in Media Center's native MCML language, ML2.0 blends in perfectly with the overall media center experience. A vertical and horizontal axis grid allows for quicker navigation compared with alternative movie management software, and provides the grace, and attractiveness that will "wow" your neighbors at first glance. Talk about the "wow factor", ML 2.0 automatically downloads georgeous high resolution artwork that adorns the display when viewing the movie details page. Beyond the beauty and grace of ML 2.0's newly updated interface, additional new features also include... Custom Collections, Parental Controls, support for Box Sets, Aspect Ratio, and an entirely updated SDK for our custom installation dealers.

Share High Definition Television
With the recent addition of "Copy Freely" technology, the Niveus Digital Cable Receiver can now create high definition television recordings that are capable of being shared amongst multiple Niveus Media Servers, and Windows 7 based PCs. With the exception of certain channels that are normally restricted from sharing (ie. HBO, Showtime, PPV) most channels now support PC to PC sharing. While this functionality may vary from market to market, depending upon Cable Provider, it's a great feature that truly brings digital television into the 21st Century.

Professional Cameras Require a Professional Solution
The 2010 Niveus Media Server comes ready to work with your prosumer Digital SLR, and HD Video Camera. Starting with Windows 7 Media Center, native .RAW image support for your DSLR, and native AVCHD/Quicktime/H.264 support for your HD Video Camera make previewing and viewing your own productions within Media Center a snap. Simply connect your camera to the media center via USB for super fast file transfer, or share your network folders on your primary editing station. Both methods ensure your files show up quickly, and are instantly accessible on your favorite Plasma or LCD.

Have we mentioned the new W7 Media Center Photo Slideshow Screensaver? Well it's very cool to say the least. Think of an animated collage of your family photos, with black and white transitions to color as your photos come into focus.

System Tuning
Niveus White Glove Service (WGS) provides dealers and customers with the satisfaction that their media server is being setup correctly, at the factory, to their specific requirements. Niveus Dealers work with their clients to complete the WGS installation document. This requirements document creates the framework for each systems' custom setup. Niveus technicians then provide the majority of setup configurations at the factory, and across all products on the customer order. That ensures that the Cargo Storage Server, ZONE media player, and Pro Series Media Server are all setup in relation to each other and ready to go once they arrive at their final destination. Of course, before the complete system ships, a backup of the final system configuration is made so if a system ever needs to be restored to factory default, the WGS setup is part of that automated restore. Want to tune it yourself? Niveus Studio, a proprietary plug-in for 64-bit Windows 7 is available in the Niveus Software Labs. While it doesn't provide the level of configuration that WGS provides, it does provide some powerful tweaks and hacks to the Windows 7 Media Center Experience that you may just find invaluable.
